KODA has announced that Anders Lassen will be its new Managing Director effective November 1, 2010. Anders Lassen is presently Managing Director at Infomedia A/S, and is taking over from Niels Bak, who will retire after 25 years in the Director’s chair at KODA.

51 year-old Anders Lassen is originally a journalist by profession and education. He has moved on to a diverse career in the media business – mainly in TV and digital media – with 11 years in the position as Managing Director. The past five years Anders Lassen has been the Managing Director of Infomedia A/S (a media intelligence bureau owned jointly by the two largest Danish newspaper groups). At Infomedia, Anders Lassen has contributed to a significant income increase by launching licenses for the further exploitation of articles.

“To be able to distribute and spread music at all levels makes this job very special to me. It is a great and very exciting task that I am very much looking forward to,” says Anders Lassen. “Music is essential in the lives of all people – including my own – and KODA plays a pivotal role in Danish cultural life. I am very excited and look forward to become involved in the development of this position in the time to come.”

“We have been through a long and intensive process in order to find a new Managing Director who we believe can carry KODA and the author’s rights safely into the future,” says Chairman of KODA’s Board, Pia Raug. “The applicants have been extremely qualified, and Anders Lassen represents all the progressive, professional and personal qualities we could wish for KODA. We are very grateful that he has accepted the position and we look forward to facing any future tasks and challenges with him as the Managing Director.”

Earlier this year, KODA’s present Managing Director, Niels Bak, announced that he wished to retire from his job. During his 25 years of leadership, the organization has developed into a modern company focused on both members and customers and acknowledged as one of the most efficient and estimated collective rights societies in the world.

“It has been wonderful to be part of the process of developing the organization during all these years. Particularly the most recent years with online development has been an exciting and challenging time,” says Niels Bak. “The digital challenges will most certainly not decrease in the years to come. I therefore wish Anders Lassen good luck with managing and developing KODA in the future. I am certain that KODA is well prepared for these challenges with the choice of Anders Lassen as the new Managing Director,” stresses Bak.
